PROP-WASH-
by Charles Thompson
When painting at a local airport with other members of the Southend Art
Club, I selected to paint this Patenavia 68B only because I was told that
it was not going to fly that day. However, halfway through the painting,
a pilot turned up and told me that he was going to fly it right away and
- before I could dismantle my easel, he started up the engines and sent
both my easel and wet canvas flying into the bushes behind me. I took
the painting home and was about to ‘bin’ it when I decided
instead to experiment with the smudged painting using my newly acquired
‘Oil Bars’, which I had never used before. This was the result
and it actually sold. 14” x 18” oil on board.
