Tribute
to the Canadian Centennial of Flight in Canada
A
major event of historic significance to Canada will be the celebration
of the first century of the Canadian aviation history in 2009. Events
are being planned by the Centennial of Flight committee made up of
key government and corporate stakeholders including the Canada's Air
Force which has set up a special project for the centennial. The gallery
below is made up of artwork from CAAA members illustrating aspects
of Canada's first century of aviation. A centennial art program is
being planned by the CAAA with artists being encouraged to contribute
to the Centennial Collection. The Centennial Collection with feature
up to 30 paintings specially painted in honour of the centennial.
The theme will be wide-ranging and cover all aspects of the first
100 years of avaition including the planes, people and events of that
first 100 years fo flight. The Centennial Collection will make its
public debut in Feb 2009 in Baddeck and other venues for public display
across Canada such as the Greenwood Aviation Museum and Atlantic Museum
of Aviation:
