Cool Birds by Priscilla Messner-Patterson
"This is one of my favorite pieces. This is at Lake Hood in Anchorage, Alaska in the middle of winter. The float planes go on skis and manage to keep working all winter. It is called "Cool Birds" as I decided to put a common redpoll (little red bird) into the painting to balance the red wing and cowl covers on the plane."

13VF by Priscilla Messner-Patterson
"What interested me when I took the reference photos for this painting was the shadow pattern from the gas pumps on the ground. This is also a two time award winner."
