Storm Over Juno - by Peter Robichaud
RCAF Hawker Typhoon fighter bombers of 439 Squadron attacking German gun positions just behind Courseulles-sur-mer on Juno Beach Normandy- D-Day 6th June 1944. The targets were attacked and destroyed by the Typhoons with 1000lb bombs and several other positions along the beach were strafed with 20mm cannons, shortly before the initial Canadian Army assault waves hit the beaches.
