Harold Skaarup

Major (retired) Harold A. Skaarup graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax in 1974, and earned his Master's Degree in War Studies at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario in 1995. He is a former Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel for 3 Intelligence Company in Halifax, and is currently the President of the York Sunbury Historical Society, and a volunteer with the Fredericton Region Museum, the New Brunswick Aviation Museum and the New Brunswick Military History Museum in Oromocto. He is an Associate RCAF Historian, a proud grandfather to Cole, Ashley, Owen, Auli and Bauer, and enjoys making art and writing Canadian Military History.

Golden Hawk by Harold Skaarup
"Kevin Anderson with the New Brunswick Aviation Museum asked for a Golden Hawk. I had outlined one I intended to do a long while back, and got at it when the snow was heavy outside. The aircraft is a Canadair CL-13 Sabre, (Serial No. 23649), in Golden Hawks colours."
